Rare and Valuable Collection of 8 Books by the Wondrous Gaon Rabbi David Hacohen of Vilna with the Author's Dedications to the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin - Jerusalem 1878-1884 - Volume with a rare and special collection of 8 books, some of which were never auctioned, by the wondrous Gaon Rabbi David ben Aharon Hacohen of Vilna, a resident of Jerusalem, who wrote these books demonstrating unbelievable Genius of the Gematria of the year of printing of each book. On 5 of the 8 books, the author's dedications to the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin . In the first, Rabbeinu is still titled ”Av Beit Din of the Moscow community”. Including two glosses handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin . All the books are bound in a single binding, detached. Stains. Tears along the edges of the leaves. Some other blemishes. The Press of Rabbi Yoel Moshe Solomon. 1884. 6, 20, [1] pp.  The author Rabbi David Hacohen (born in 1836) immigrated to Eretz Yisrael by himself and got married and build his home there. Was a prolific writer who published a book almost annually. Was known in Jerusalem as Baal Hapratim since in all his books, the year of printing appeared in verses forming the Gematria of the year (see more in the wonderful article by the scholar R. Moshe Nachmani https://olam-katan.co.il/archives/8514 . The Book's owner The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin of Volozhin served as Chief Rabbi of Moscow, and as the Rosh Yeshiva of the famed Volozhin Yeshiva (known as the Mother of Yeshivot). In 1906 he immigrated to Jerusalem, and after the passing of Rabbi Shmuel of Salant, became leader of the Ashkenazic community of Jerusalem, even though he refused the official position.
