Touching Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Rebbetzin Rachel Halperin, the Wife of the Admor of Brezhan and the Granddaughter of the Admorim of Sanz and Djikov - New York during the Holocaust - Touching letter by the Rebbetzin Rachel Halperin - the Wife of the Admor Rabbi Yoel Halperin of Brezhan and the daughter of Rabbi Eliyahu of Zolin, the grandson of the Admorim of Sanz and Djikov - he letter in which she bemoans the terrible destruction of Europe and the loss of her family members - New York during mid-WWII.  The Rebbetzin sent the letter to a relative. In it, she describes her terrible feelings, being physically in free America yet her heart and thoughts being in Poland where her father's house is: ”מען האט ארויס גיקוקט דיא מלחמה דארף זיך ענדיגען, אבער ווער האט זיך געקענט פארשטעלן אזא גרוסע חורבן... כאטץ איך בין און דער פרייער אמעריקא... וועגן פרנסה, איז דאס און אמריקא נישט פון דיא גרויסע זארג... אבער מיר.. זיכען נישט נאך קיין געלט, בפרט יעצט, וויא מען האט נישט קיין אינטערעסנטע און לעבען...” [freely translated: ”It seemed that the war was about to end, but who could have imagined such a great destruction... Even though I am in free America... regarding Parnasha it is not a big problem here... But we do not go after money especially now when we have nothing to live for...)!!! Letter on the official stationery of her husband the Admor.  15X22.5 cm.  The Rebbetzin Rachel Halperin , the daughter of Rabbi Eliyahu of Zolin, the son of the Admor Rabbi Naftali Chaim of Djikov and the grandson of Maran the Divrei Chaim and the Imrei Noam of Djikov. She married the Admor Rabbi Naftali Halperin, the son of the Admor Rabbi Avraham Zerach Aryeh Yehuda Leibush (Reb Leibush) Halperin of Brezhan, author of Emet LiYehuda and Imrei Yehuda. In 1938, the Admor's family moved to the USA, where he established his Beit Midrash in New York.
