Rare Chassidic Books: Books by Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Myklaiv the Son of the Mahari of Ziditchov - First Editions in the Author's Lifetime Lviv, 1881-1883 - Volume with the first three books that were printed, by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Eichenstein of Myklaiv, the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchov and the son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Avraham of Myklaiv (a descendant of Rabbi Meir of Premishlan). These books were published in the author's lifetime and are extremely rare as noted by the famed scholar Gershom Scholem on a copy he owned. The National Library of Jerusalem also notes that these books are rare; one of them is a photocopy of a copy on which it was written ”facsimile of the only copy in the world owned by Prof. Scholem”. These books were printed in brittle paper which unfortunately, left little room for many copies to survive. Even the copies of the National Library have many tears along their edges and many detached leaves. These books are relatively reasonably preserved except for the title page of the first book, of which only a quarter exists and was completed with a professional photocopy. Tears along the edges of the leaves and some restorations. Some damage to text in several places. Stains. Fine new binding.  The books are adorned with approbations by Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alesk, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Liska and Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi of Zlotchov who wrote about the author's books that they are  ”כתבי קודש מעשה אצבעותיו זה ספר תורת אלקיו בראשו” and by additional leading contemporary rabbis.  Extended bibliographic list:  1. Lemberg, 1883. 56 leaves. The title page is torn and mostly missing - the rest was completed with a professional photocopy. The leaf og approbations is torn along its edges. Leaf 3 is restored. Tears along the edges of some leaves.  2. Sefer Likutim , ”on Taryag Mitzvot and the seven Mitzvot DeRabbanan, commentary on SEfer Yetzira and on PIrkei Avot and Likutei Torah and glosses on Sefer Ateret Zvi [by his great-uncle Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Ziditchov]...”. First ediiton in the author's lifetime Lviv - 1882. 35 leaves. Without the [4] leaves of the Table of Corrections and Additions.  3. Sefer Adam VeChavah Vetoldoteihem and Menachem Tzeddek . Gershom Scholem on this book: ”Extremely rare”. First edition in the author's lifetime. Lviv - 1881. 16 leaves. Restored tear to title page. Some moth perforations.  The Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Eichenstein of Myklaiv (1840-1901), the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchov. It is told that after he was born, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Rimanmov appeared to the baby's father in a dream and told him to name the child Menachem Mendel after him. Already in his youth was considred a Gaon and Iluy with a phenomenal memory. Married the daughter of Rabbi Chaim Avraham Rodlich, the grandson of Rabbi Meir of Premishlan, whom he succeeded as Rav of Myklaiv. After the passing of his brother, Rabbi Sender, agreed to become Admor alongside his nephew Rabbi Yissachar berish (Baal Hamalbush LeShabbat Veyom Tob). Dozens of books with his Divrei Torah were published.
