Fascinating Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Kopel Löwenstein Av Beit Din of Bischofsheim and Author of Mincha Tehora - Bischofsheim, 1853 - להעמיד הדת על תלה - fascinating letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Kopel Löwenstein Av Beit Din of Bischofsheim - addressed to Rabbi Chaim Segal - about the appointment of a Kli Kodesh - Yiddish/German and Hebrew - Bischofsheim, 1853. Throughout his life, Rabbi Kopel fought Reform Jews. He even published the wortk Mincha Tehora against Keuznach's work, Taryag. This letter by him discusses the struggle for appointing an Ish al HaEidah, whose appointment was object to by ”liars”. Rabbeinu sent the letter to Rabbi Chaim Segal, whom he describes with many superlatives: ”אל מעלת צדיק מתהלך בתומו, דורש טוב לעמו, עומד בפרץ להחזיק דת התורה, מתאמץ ביראת ה' הטהורה...” . Most of the letter was written in German Yiddish. Rabbeinu ends his letter with a blessing that is typical of his constant struggles: ”וחפץ ה' בעזרתו בידינו יצליח, והוא יפקוד איש על עדתו עדת ישורון, אשר רוח אלוקים בו, ויסכר פי דוברי שקר, להעמיד הדת על תלה, ויעשו כלם אגודת אחת...”. 22X28 cm. Fold lines. Good condition.
