The Torah of America: Lengthy Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Halevi Roderman to Maran Posek Hador Rabbi Moshe Feinstein - Baltimore - Letter on the official stationery of the Ner Yisrael Yeshiva of Baltimore, written on both sides, handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Halevi Roderman, addressed to Maran Posek Hador Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, with great love and honor and expressing his gratitude for his book. The letter contains Divrei Torah pertaining to Rabbi Moshe Feinstein's book, the Igrot Moshe. He ends his letter with the words: ”הכותב בחפזי מחמת הטרדה מוקיר כרוב ערכו, יעקב יצחק הלוי רודערמאן”, adding a line expressing his feelings about the value of Rabbi Feinstein's book, which was sent to him: ”הקדש שוה אלף שחיללו על שוה פרוטה מחולל, לכן יקבל מחאה [כנראה: המחאה] קטנה בעד ספרו, הנ”ל”. Fold lines.  Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Halevi Roderman (1900-1987) the Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Yisrael of Baltimore and one of the leading contemporary rabbis of America. Was born in Belarus (then the Russian Empire) to Rabbi Yehuda Leib Roderman who was a Chassid of the Admor the Rashab of Lubavitch. Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak studied on the yeshivas of Tomchei Temimim, Slonim and Slabodka under the Saba. In 1930, he moved to the USA, where he established his Ner Yisrael Yeshiva, which became one of the most important and influential yeshivas in North America.
