Rare! The Neve Shalom Quarter of Jerusalem Plan to Build a Chabadic Neighborhood in Jerusalem - Jerusalem, 1930? With Illustrations and Pictures of Rabboteini Nessi'einu - Rare booklet declaring the building of a Chabadic neighborhood in Jerusalem, the Neveh Shalom Quarter. ”דורך כולל חב”ד בירושלים ת”ו, ווערט יעצט געבויט אין ירושלים עיר הקדש ת”ו. א נאייע שכונה, מיט דעס נאהמען ”נוה שלום” [freely translated: by Kollel Chabad in Jerusalem a new neighborhood is now being built called Neveh Shalom]. Zuckerman Press, Jerusalem. Without the year of printing; apparently printed in ca. 1930. [21] pp. 24 cm. Hebrew and English title cover. Opens upwards like a notepad. With illustrations and portraits. A small tear to one of the leaves not affecting the text. Stains. Good overall condition. The booklet is written in Yiddish and English. It notes that the neighborhood is named after the Admor the Rashab and is built with the support of the Admor the Rayatz. Later, the need for building the neihjborhood aand its regulations are described by the Chabadic Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Eliazrov, Rosh Av Beit Din and leader of the Chabad and Ashkenazic community of Hebron, who is titled here ”the representative of the Admor Shlita” and by Rabbi David Levanon. The building of the neighborhood did not come to pass and only in 1960, the cornerstone was laid for a Shikkun Chabad under the Rebbe's presidency, apparently not in the same designated place. The booklet contains photographs and illustrations including portraits of Rabboteinu Nessi'einu, the Admor Hazaken Baal Hatanya, the Tzemach Tzeddek, the Rebbe the Rashab and the Rebbe the Rayatz. It also contains a sketch of ”one of the central buildings...”, pictures of the students of Kollel Tzemach Tzeddek in the yeshiva and by the Western Wall, a oicture of the Kollel and the Chabad synagogue of the Old City and a picture of the Avraham Avibnu synagogue of Hebron ”which was purchased and dedicated to Kollel Chabad by the Mitteler Admor...”
