$100 Bill Given Directly by the Rebbe for the Building of a Synagogue and Renovation of the Ezrat Nashim of a Synagogue in Jerusalem - $100 bill given directly by the Rebbe to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Halperin for the building of a synagogue and renovation of the Ezrat Nashim of a synagogue (apparently the Zichrin Batya Synagogue - where Rabbi Halperin served as Rav for many years) in Jerusalem.  Bill from 1985. Fold lines. Very good overall condition.  Enclosed is confirmation by the giver of the item.  Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Halperin (1933-2019), an important Chabad Rav of Jerusalem, one of the founders of the Institute of Science and Halacha and its head. Was considered an expert on technology and Halacha and his Psikot form the halachic basis of the Psakim of rabbis Morei Hora'ah of all circles and communities. During his first visit to the USA, when he was received for Yechidut with the Rebbe, the Rebbe welcomed him warmly, having a long discussion with him. During the discussion, the Rebbe commented on the name of the institution, which was then called the Scientific Technological Institute for Halachic Problems, which implied that the Halacha was causing problems. The Rebbe suggested to change its name to something like the Halachic Institute for Scientific and Technological Problems. Due to disputes and bureaucratic obstacles, only several years later the ”problems” were omitted altogether. Ever since that visit to the Rebbe, at every opportunity, the Rebbe used to bless Rabbi Halperin with success in his important Avodat Kodesh at the institute he headed and that he merit using his unique talents for the benefit of the entire Beit Yisrael.
