Special! Object of Kedusha and Mitzvah: Leaves of Hadas and a Branch from the Rebbe - 1980s - Two leaves of a Hadas (myrtle) and a piece of branch , which were carefully preserved by one of the Rebbe's Shluchim, who preserved many leaves of the Hadas for years in a sealed jar. According to the giver of the item, the leaves in the jar are a mixture of leaves that were given on two occasions - t he Rebbe's Chalukah and from his personal Lulav, the one on which the Rebbe blessed (see below). Every year, on the eve of Sukkot, the Rebbe would hand out Arba'ah Minim for Mitzvat Lulav to selected Chabad Chassidim, members of the secretariate, the winner of a lottery and Chabad representatives from varied countries. The Rebbe used to tell each one of those receiving the Minim: ”ממשיך זיין אלע המשכות” and the like. These Hadasim were received by such a Shali'ach. In addiiton, Hadasim from the Rebbe's Lulav were kept by Chassidim and Tmimim. The Arba'at Haminim were bound by the Chassid Rabbi David Raskin - from him, the Rebbe's Hadasim were received. This item was given to us by one of the Rebbe's Shluchim and the revenue from its sale will be dedicated to the activity of one of the Rebbe's institution and to a European Beit Chabad. It is well-known that Arba'at Haminim represent all the possible types of Jews, the scented yet tasteless Hadas representing the Jews who oserve the Mitzvot. It is also well-known that Rabboteinu Nessi'einu used to take as a Segulah more Hadas branches than the three required ones.
