Tavnit Ot Yosef - First and Single Edition Frankfurt an der Oder, 1752 - Sefer Tavnit Ot Yosef, ”Chidushei Halachot on several tractates”. The work by Rabbi Yosef Av Beit Din of Tarnogród and Moreh Tzeddek of the Ostrovtza community... the son of Rabbi Avigdor Av Beit Din of Chentshin...”. First edition. Frankfurt an der Oder - 1752. [2], 58 leaves. Printed on quality paper. Some moth burrows, partly with old taping. Stains. Old, half-leather binding with minor blemishes. Good overall condition.  The author, the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Margaliot (d. 1760), the son of the Gaon Rabbi Avigdor Margaliot, who was a descendant of Kedoshim and Geonim. In his youth served as Av Beit Din of Ostrovtza and later as Av Beit Din of Tarnogród. After his father's passing, succeeded him as Rav of Chentshin. Author of Tavnit Ot Yosef on the Shas, which he authored after he was imprisoned for several months by the authorities.  After he was released he published the book in gratitude to Hashem. His son, Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot of Lublin, was a Chassid of the Chozeh of Lublin and the in-law of the famed philanthropist Mrs. Tamaril.
