Sharp Letter of Protest - Handwritten and Signed by the Chassid Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zwein - against the Hatzofeh Newspaper of Hamizrachi - Jerusalem, 1938 - עד עתה דומה שעוד לא בא בו אף דבר אחד, שלא היה יכול להכנס גם ל”הבוקר” ול”הארץ” -  Sharp letter of protest  against the Hatzofeh newspaper  - by the Chassid Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zwein - addressed to Rabbi Meir Berlin (Bar Ilan) - Jerusalem, 1938.  In his letter, Rabbi Zwein complains that Hatzofeh omits entire passages from his religious articles fearing to appear overly-religious. The Rav also notes that his articles which were sent to the Haaretz newspaper were published in full: ”עושה הדבר רושם כאילו חושש ”הצופה” שלא ”יתקדש” ח”ו ב”קדושה” יתרה, ואת אשר עם לבבי לא אכחד: הרושם הזה יש לי (ולא רק לי) בלאו הכי, מצד הטעם הטוב וטוהר - הביטוי עושה ”הצופה” אמנם רושם יפה, אבל דומה שהעיקר חסר, עד עתה דומה שעוד לא בא בו אף דבר אחד, שלא היה יכול להכנס גם ל”הבוקר” ול”הארץ”...”  A single leaf, written on bothg sides.  21X25 cm.  Filing holes. Good condition.  The Chassid Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zwein (1890-1978) a gaon, editor of the Talmudic Encyclopedia. Received his rabbinic Semicha from the Rogochover and Rabbi Yechiel Michl Epstein. A Chabad Chassid and one of the first who signed the Hitkashrut letter to the Rebbe. Was the first chairman of the Beit Din of the Chabad rabbis in Israel.
