Letter with Divrei Torah on a Polemic Issue - Handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Berman Rav in Rochester, New York - Polemic - sharp letter about a controversy regarding saying Kel Melech Neeman before Keriat Shema - handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Berman Rav in Rochester, New York - addressed to a Jewish journal. Rabbeinu wrote his letter following an article written by someone who tried to settle the questions of Rabbeinu the Remah about saying Kel Melech Neeman before Keriat Shema, basing his article on the Yerushalmi. Rabbi Berman wrote this letter in response, defending the Remah and attacking the writer for complaining about him: ”ושם.. At the end of the letter, he writes: ”הלוואי שנבין את דבריהם הקדושים ולא להשיג עליהם...”. (May we understand their sacred words and not criticise them). Official stationery. 21X28 cm. Good condition. Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Avraham Pinchas Berman was born in Russia. Moved to the USA and served as Rav of the Rochester neighborhhod of New York. Was considered a leading Rav in New York and his approbations appear in several books that were published in his time.
