Interesting and Historical Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Shneur Zalman Yosef Alony Av Beit Din of Dublin to the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer - Dublin, 1958 - Letter in fine script  - by the Gaon Rabbi Shneur Zalman Yosef Alony Av Beit Din of Dublin - addressed to the gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer - Dublin, 1958.  The days were the days of the Depression in Israel and food was given sparsely. The Jews of the Diaspora' however, saw it as their privelige to send food products to their brothers in Israel. In this letter, Rabbi Alony writes that he sent to Israel a case of canned meat made by Lubavitch Chassidim:  ”הנני בזה להודיע להדרת גאונו ששלחתי לכבודו תיבת בשר המכיל 48 קופסאות שנעשה ובהשגחת חסידי ליובאוויטש וכשר אף למהדרין, ותקוותי שהדרת גאונו יקבל את זה בלי קשיים ממני תלמידו...”.   Official stationery.  18X21 cm.  Filing perforations. Fold lines. Good condition.  Rabbi Shneur Zalman Yosef Alony (1916-2003) was a disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Shimon Shkop. Av Beit Din of Dublin, Ireland and later, Rosh Av Beit Din of the Bnei Yisrael community of London. Author of many important books - Kutonet Yosef, Degel Yosef, and more. Was in contact with the Lubavitcher Rebbe and wrote several religious articles in his honor, which were published in books published by Chabad.
