Fascinating and Touching Letter - Signed by Maran the Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook- Addressed to the Activist Reb Shmuel Landau - Jerusalem, 1928 - ראוי לפחות שמצד המזרחי תבא התאמצות - touching letter by Maran the Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisrael Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook - addressed to the activist Reb Shmuel Landau - about the rabbinate of Petach Tikvah - Jerusalem, 1928.  Fascinating letter that indicates some of Maran's virtues - his concern for the Torah of the entire Jewish people and their material welfare and his concern for widows and orphans. In his letter, Maran describes the possing of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov David Rappaport Av Beit Din of Petach Tikvah, who has an unmarried duaghter. Maran, who saw the family's sorrow, found her a Shiduch - a student of the Hebron Yeshiva, the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Rinik, who continued the rabbinic tradition of the town: ”כאשר הגאון המנוח רבי יעקב דוד רפפורט ז”ל שהיה רב בכפר סבא היה מקבל מהמזרחי ע”פ הפיסוק תקציב של ... לחודש... נמנינו וגמרנו אנכי, ועוד רבנים שבאנו ליקרא דשכבא אז, וראינו את מצב המשפחה, כי נורא הוא, וכאשר נשארה בת העומדת להנשאף בסכמנו להמשיך את חזקת הרבנות ע”י שנמצא צעיר הגון הראוי להוראה בעדה... אמנם כעת שהדברים מגיעים לפרק הנשואין של הבת.... ראוי לפחות שמצד המזרחי תבא בתאמצות, על תשלום החוב כדי המגיע/ חוץ ממה שמגיע לי שנתתי על החשבון ועדיין לא קבלתי מהמזרחי....
