Father of Agunot - Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo David Kahane Rosh Av Beit Din of Warsaw - Approbation for Sefer Dinei Isha Agunah - Jerusalem, 1946 - Unique approbation - by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo David Kahane Rosh Av Beit Din of Warsaw - about the book Dinei Isha Agunah by Rabbi Dr. Avraham Chaim Coehn - Jerusalem, 1946.  Rabbi Kahane was known as the Father of Agunot since he made many efforts to Lehatir thousands of Agunot of the two World Wars. This is a unique letter in which Rabbeinu recommends the book Dinei Isha Agunah by Rabbi DR. Avraham Chaim Cohen: ”שעיינתי ברוב עיון בחוברת של הנ”ל... וגם העתיק כל חוקי המדינות השונות בעניינים אלו שידיעתם המה נחוצים לרבנים היושבים על מדין והגם שהמחבר הנכבד לא שימש ברבנות ליקט כל הדינים בהבנה נכונה וגם חידש... בשכל זך וישר..” Official sytationery.  21.5X28 cm.  Fold lines. Filing perforations. Good condition.  The Gaon Rabbi Shlomo David Kahane (1869-1954) Rosh Av Beit Din of Warsaw and the Ashkenazic Rav of the OLd City of Jerusalem until it was conquered in 1948. He studied at the Volozhin yeshiva under Rabbi Chaim Halevi Soloveitchik and the Natziv of Volozhin and at the Kollel Prushim in Kovno, receiving his Rabbinic Semicha from Rabbi Yitzchak Elchonon Spektor. Was known for the efforts he made to Lehatir Agunot of WWI and WWII and was therefore known as The Father of Agunot.
