Touching Letter Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Zeev Halevi Pollack Av Beit Din of GRooswardein - Oradea, 1952 the Last Days of the Jewish Community of Romania - Fascinating letter that was sent by the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Zeev Pollack, the grandson of the Rav of Liska - addressed to the members of the Beit Din of Bucharest in the last days of the Jewish community of Romania after the Holocaust - Oradea, 1952.  In his letter, Rabbeinu recall the story of a GEtt that was sent from Haifa to a woman living in Oradea; the name of the witness' father, however, was not written correctly. Rabbeinu discusses the matter, finding reasons for a Heiter yet asking the Rabbinic Beit Din of Bucharest to confirm it: וחידוש פלא שהבית דין מחיפה לא תקנו את המעוות... לתשובתכם הדחופה אני מחכה כי הוא שעת הדחק ומקום עיגון גדול שהאשה מפה דרה באסור אשת איש ע”כ מצווה לגרשה מבעלה הראשון...”. 17X24 cm.  Tears and wear affecting the text. Fair condition.  The Gaon Rabbi Moshe Zeev Halevi Pollack Av Beit Din of Grosswardein and Oradea and later in Brooklyn. The son-in-law of the author of the Tal Chaim. On his mother's side was a descendant of the Chatam Sofer.
