Avodat Hakodesh by the Chida - Two Editions - Bak Press Jerusalem, 1844-1847 - Collection of two editions of the famed book by Rabbeinu the Chida - Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azulai, which were printed at the famed printery of Rabbi Yisrael Bak, the printer of Berditchev, after he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael. Sefer Avodat Hakodesh, includes the following works by the Chida: Moreh BaEtzba - Hanhagot; Tziporen Shamir - Mussar, Hanhagot and prayers; Kesher Godel - Piskei Halachot; Kaf Achat - prayers; Yosef Baseder - Tikkunim; Sansan Leya'ir - prayers for times of trouble; Shomer Yisrael - things for protection. 1. 1841 edition. Shoshana Halevi 24. Two title pages. [2], 100 leaves. Leaves 38-39, 46, 82-83 are missing. Leaf 47 is with tears affecting the text. Without the book Ledavid Emet which was printed with it. 15 cm. Moth perforations and some moth damage. Detaxched leaves and sheets. Stains. Old, worn binding with a leather spine. Good overall condition. 2. 1847 edition. Shoshana Halevi 40. Separate title page for Sefer LeDavid Emet, which was added here to the seven sections of Avodat Hakodesh ”and added here are Divrei Mussar which are said before the blowing of the Shofar on Rosh Hashana...”, without the printer's foreword from the 1841 edition. [4], 168 leaves. Leaves 142-143 are missing as well as the last leaf. Old, primitive leather-covered wooden binding, with blemishes. Moth perforations and damage. Stains. Good overall condition. Some handwritten glosses.
