Sefer Yesod: Partial Set of Pnei Yehoshua - First Edition Variant of Section IV - Frankfurt / Furth 1760-1780 - Sefer Pnei Yehoshua,   by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua Folk, Av Beit Din of the important communities of Lviv, Berlin, Metz, and Frankfurt am Main. An important, foundational work for those studying the Shas BeIyun, Stefanski Sifrei Yesod 78. Three volumes with three sections:  Section I : on Masechet Brachot, Shabbat, Pesachim, Beitza, Rosh Hashanah, Sukkah, Megillah, and some chiddushim from Masechet Yoma. A similar edition to the first one which was printed only a few years earlier—Frankfurt am Main -1760. [1], 52, 66, 50, 36, 27, 28, 10 [1] leaves. Section II : on Masechet Ketubot, Gittin and Kiddushin ”and we have added Mahadura Batra of the Gaon author and introduced it in its place” - Furth - 1766. 4, 212, 217-296, 23 leaves.  Section IV : on Masechet Chulin, Makkot, Shvuot, and the Tur Choshen Mishpat. At the end, Chiddushei Pnei Aryeh on Bava Kama by the author’s son. First edition - Furth - 1780. [2], 81 leaves. Approbations by the Nodah BiYehuda of Prague and other rabbis - an unfamiliar variant; the approbations all appear on a single page and its verso is blank, unlike all other known copies in which the approbations appear on 2 pages.  Ownership signatures and stamps. Condiitons vary. Moth perforations and damage. Stains and other blemishes. Good overall condition. Section IV is without the binding and with detached leaves.
