One of the Only Cooies in the World! Passover Haggadah with a Ladinto Translation - Venice, 1792 - with a Rare Piyyut Attributed to Nathan of Gaza! - Haggadah shel Pesach with a Sephardic translation - with Kavanot from Sefer Chemdat Yamim and a Ladino commentary - Bragadin Press - Venice, 1792 - Yaari 242; Otzar Hahaggadot 358. 54 leaves. Leather binding. Wear and moth damage. Fair-good condition. This edition had two variants - this one, which includes the Piyyut Asader Shivcha Beleila Depischa which is attributed to Sabbatean Nathan of Gaza, and Kavanot from Sefer Chemdat Yamim, which to this day is controversial. There was a second variant in which the Kavanot and the Sabbatean Piyyut were omitted. It is hard to say whether the printers of this edition were Sabbateans. Possibly, the source of the Piyyut was controversial at the time and therefore. the printers preferred to publish two variants ”according to the wishes of each person”. Extremely rare! An incomplete copy has been auctioned only once before and the National Library also has an incomplete copy, completed with a facsimile.
