Sefer Eil Yitzchak Kabbalistic Commentary on Chad Gadya - First Edition Lviv? 1820? - Sefer Eil Yitzchak, ”which is a Kabbalistic commentary on Chad Gadya by the Gaon and Mekubal Rabbi Yitzchak Av Beit Din of Posna...copied from an ancient manuscript and found in the archive of the Chassid Gaon and Mekubal Rabbi Menachem Manish of Drohobych”. Printed without the place and year of printing. Apparently printed in Lemberg in ca. 1820. 7 leaves. Otzar Hahaggadot 608. Printed on quality bluish paper. Some moth damage. Stains. Late binding. Good overall condition.  About the reasons for writing the work, which ”is one of the few and first based on the Ari's Torah” (according to the Ahavat Shalom Institute), Rabbeinu worte on the title page of his book: ”הנה הואיל שראיתי שנדפסים הדברים הנ”ל אצל ההגדה מקדמונים, והוא כעין חידה ודברים סתומים יש בהם, כדברי הסבא בפרשת משפטים שטעו בו תלמידי רשב”י, מכ”ש דברים כאלה אשר בעיני העם אך למותר ודברי הבאי ושחוק והיתול ובעיני האומות ללעג וקלס ומונין בה את ישראל, ע”כ נתתי לבי לתור ולחקור בעזרת חונן דעת יתברך שמו ויתעלה זכרו לנצח נצחים, ויגעתי ומצאתי לפענ”ד וה' יראנו נפלאות מתורתו...”. The author Rabbi Yitzchak Hagadol of Posna (1610/1620?-1685) a leading sage of Poland, Posek and Mekubal. The Rav of the Magen Avraham. The son of Rabbi Avraham who served as Rav, Av Beit Din  and Rosh Yeshiva of Posna. In his youth was appointed Rav of Lutzk and Horodna and in 1664 was appointed Rav of Vilna, succeeding Rabbi Moshe Lima. In 1667 was sent by his Rav, the author of Kikayon Deyonah, to serve as Rav and Av Beit Din of Posna. He was also one of the leaders of Vaad Arba Aratzot. His son, Rabbi Yaakov - the son-in-law of the Semichat Chachamim - succeded him as Rav of Poasna.
