Fascinating and Original! A line Handwritten and Signed by Maran Harav Kook on the Chalukah of Matzahs for the Policemen of the Police Orchestra! - Jerusalem, 1934 - Lengthy list of names of the policemen of the police orchestra during the British Mandate - and the number of Matzahs they are supposed to receive from the Vaad Knesset Yisrael - with a line handwritten and signed by Maran Harav Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen KOok, the Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisrael - Jerusalem, 1934. Vaad Haklali Knesset Yisrael was a committee that headed several Kollelim of Jerusalem and activities for its Jews. The Vaad was headed by Maran the Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook. Among his blessed enterprises was the Chalukah of Matzhas for the Jewish institutions of Jerusalem. This is a list of names of Jewish policemen who were members of the police orchestra. Written beside each name is the number of family members. On the lower part of the list, a line handwritten and signed by Harav Kook: ”הנני מקיים... ח”י (חתימת ידי) השוטרים הנ”ל ודבריהם במספר הנפשות נאמנים ולראיה בעה”ח...”. This list indicates Maran's leadership and his concern for each and every Jew... Enclosed is a receipt of the Vaad Haklali for the Chakukah of the Matzahs for the members of the police orchestra. 20X33 cm. Fold lines. Good condition. The receipt: 10X15 cm. Pinkish paper.
