A book of mussar by Rabbi Refael ben Rabbi Yekutiel Ziskind Katz. Second edition. At the end of the book is Pnei Aryeh, chiddusheihalachot and aggadot by Rabbi Aryeh HaLevi of Wolkovisk. Only edition, Vilna 1873. Binding disconnected, generally good condition. There is a signature and stamp of ownership of Rabbi Yehoshua DovGrodzitzky, son-in-law of Rabbi AharonYa’akowitz, son-in-law of Rabbi Aryeh Levin. He was a rosh yeshiva of Bialystock in Poland, after which his son-in-law named his yeshiva. Authored Kodshei Yehoshua on the Shas, with a wonderful endorsement from his rabbi Gaon Rabbi Baruch Dvo Leibowitz. Published TosafotHaRosh on the BavaMetziya. Studied in a hevruta with Rabbi Haim Shmuelowitz. Among his many students: Rabbi YerachmielUngerisher, head of the Beit Midrash Elyon yeshiva. Sons: Rabbi Haim Simcha, Rabbi Avraham Baruch. Sons-in-law: Rabbi Haim Melin, Rabbi Naftali Malamud (the Imrei Noam), Rav Ephraim Kohen, Rav David Bistritz, and Rav Shmuel Meir.
