Rare! Pocket Tanya the 75th edition, the First Printed in Fayid during the Yom Kippur War - Egypt 1973. - Sefer Yesod of Chassidut Chabad - Lubavirxh, Likkutei Amarim Tanya by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, Baal HaTanya and the Shulchan Aruch HaRav. Printed at the IDF Fayid base in Egypt, 1973. 75th edition. Mondshine Sefer HaTanya 65. [2], 222 leaves. 11cm. Stains and minor blemishes. Good overall condition. See more below.   The 75th edition of the Tanya was printed with a mobile printing press during the Yom Kippur War at the order of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson: “to show that not 'בכוחי ועוצם ידי'’ was Africa conquered, or Egypt as it is called, but rather 'ברוחי אמר ה' צבאות'”. The printing was made possible due to the effort of General Rabbi Zvi Lipsker, a Chabad Chassid, and required the special permission of Ariel Sharon, (then, the Division Commander and later the Israeli Prime Minister), and sent shockwaves through contemporary newspapers, regarding Chabad followers' devotion to their Rebbe. The printing took place around the days of Hanukkah. About a month later the Rebbe surprisingly ordered another printing, and the 78th edition was printed around the same area. The edition seen in auctions until now was the 78th edition. This edition which was published first was limited and therefore less common. There are slight variations in the title page between the two editions. This edition was given out to soldiers in the field, and the copy before us has the stamp ה' ישמור צאתך ובואך, שי לחייל מצעירי אגודת חב”ד כפר חב”ד”. During the Rebbe's Sichah on Chag Hage'ulah, Tamuz 12, 1974, he said (freely translated from Yiddish): ”And especially when this Tanya is now studied, and from this Siddur one prays, and a Psalm is recited from this Tehillim... then it becomes openly revealed that in Fayid there is an eternal presence of Toras Hashem and His Mitzvos, including also the inner dimension of the Torah... And particularly now that the Tehillim and Siddurim are present here, and Jews are studying and praying with them, or reciting a chapter of Tehillim from them... by this, they bring closer the true and complete Geulah.”
