$1 Coin of a Rare Edition - Hanukkah Gelt Given Directly by the Rebbe - 1991 - $1 coin (a rare $1 coin Susan B. Anthony issued in 1979 - a limited edition that was issued for 3 years only). Given directly by the Rebbe as Hanukkah Gelt in 1991. Was received by a Chassid who belonged to a Kvutzah that visited the Rebbe.  During the days of Hanukkah 1991, the Rebbe handed out a kit containing $1 bill and a $1 coin of this series. The kit was placed in a plastic bag on which it was written 'Hanukkah 1991' (in Hebrew) - this is the coin that was handed out in this kit. The buyer shall be given confirmation by the Auction House. Minhag Yisrael Torah Huh to give Hanukkah Gelt In 1952, the Rebbe gave out Chanukkah Gelt to the Temimim of the 770 Beit Midrash. First, the Rebbe said a Sichah stating that Rabboteinu Nesi'einu's intention was that the students of Tomchei Temimim be illuminating candles and on the nights of Chanukkah one should be Mosif Veholech in this regard. At the end of his Sichah, the Rebbe tearfully said: ”Today is Chanukkah. Minhag Yisrael Torah Huh to give Chanukkah Gelt. I will give you Chanukkah Gelt from the Kupah of the Admor who said... that even the smallest coin if given by an Ish Tam Veyashar Yere Elokim and Sar Mera - its recipient will be blessed and succeed - not only materially but also spiritually”.
