Liban shel Yisrael - Four Important Books Bound Together - Copy of the Jerusalem Tzaddik Rabbi Aryeh Levin, with His Signature and a Notation Handwritten by Him - Pedigreed copy - four books bound together - with the handwritten signatures of the Jerusalem Tzaddik Rabbi Aryeh Levin - with an additional notation in his pearly script.  The volume contains the following books:  ~ Special edition of Shirei Hanefesh - the Malbim's famed commentary on Shir Hashirim - Bucharest 1860 edition - second edition of the book, which was publsihed when the Malbim was Av Beit Din of Bucharest.  ~ Or Hashem by Rabbeinu Ovadya Sfrono - missing title page. On the adjacent page, Rabbi Aryeh Levin handwrote: ”[אור ה'] מהגאון האמתי אחד מגדולי הראשונים ז”ל רבינו עובדיה ספורנו זלה”ה כמובא בשם הגדולים לאזולאי ז”ל”. [[Or Hashem] by the true Gaon one of the leading Rishonim Rabbeinu Ovadya Sfrono as introduced in Shem Hagedolim by Azulai].  ~ Sha'arei Hakedushah by Rabbeinu Chaim Vital - with Chidushim by the Mekubal Rabbi Shimshon of Ostropoli - Lemberg, 1859.  ~ Derech Etz Chaim - missing title page.  On the flyleaf, Rabbeinu's handwritten signature: ”לה' הארץ ומלואה ארי' ליב לעווין”. Old half-leather binding. Stains. Good condition.    The Jerusalem Tzaddik Rabbi Aryeh Levin (1885-1969) the son of Rabbi Binyamin Beinush. He was Mashgiach at the Etz Chaim yeshiva in Jerusalem and one of the greatest figures of the city. He was known for his charity and became known as Father of the Priosners or Rav of the Prisoners for visiting prisoners every Shabbos for more than 25 years, since the British Mandate. He studied at the Volozhin yeshiva under Rabbi Refael Shapira, and received his Rabbinic Semicha from Rabbi Chaim Berlin. Upon the establishment of the State of Israel he established the yeshiva now named after him, Beit Aryeh. Rabbeinu was the father-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv and his descendants include Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky and Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, Rav Kook of Tiberias and many others. Many stories were told about his virtues and many deeds of charity. His last request was not to be eulogized.
