Rare! Single Edition of Tzorchei Tzibur - Dinim and Customs in Ladino by Rabbi Avraham Assa of Kushta, a Leading Ladino Author - Kushta, 1733 - ”כי הוא עשה בשביל הספרות הספרדית יהודית לאדינו יותר מכל איש אחר לפניו או לאחריו” [since he has done more for Ladino Jewish-Spanish literature than any other person before or after him]. Sefer Tzorchei Tzibur - Dinim pertainign to the days of the week, Sabbaths and the Moadim - by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Assa of Kushta - the Press of Rabbi Yonah ben Yaakov - Kushta, 1733 - single edition. The Gaon Rabbi Avraham Assa was the leading Ladino writer and translator. In a large part of the books he had edited, he did not write his name and we know about the fruit of his labor from poems implying his name, which he printed in the books he had edited. The highlight of his work is this book, Tzorchei Tzibur, a kind of Kitzur Shulchan Aruch in Ladino containing compiled Halachot for the Shulchan Aruch, Hagahot Rema, Magen Avraham, Shelah, Taz, Maharil and many more (it seems that it's time to tranlate into Hebrew this important book...). About his work in the field of translating Sifrei Kodesh into Ladino, M.D. [If we are to judge by the known books that have reached us today and to which he is connected, it can be said that he did more for Ladino Jewish-Spanish literature than any other person before or after him]. [4], 165, [3] leaves. New half-fabric binding. Two minor moth perforations. Stains. Good condition.
