Single Edition of the Work Chavat Yair - Remazim and Gematria on the Bible by Rabbi Avraham ben Yechiel Rappaport - Venice, 1628 - A unique book, the work Chavat Yair - Remazim, acronyms and Gematrua on Biblical verses - by Rabbi Avraham ben Yechiel Rappaport - the Press of Giovanni Caleoni (Bragadin) - Venice, 1628 - single edition.  The book is alphabetized; for each Hebrew letter, Remazim on the Biblical words and verses beginning with that letter are introduced. The book was edited by Rabbi Avraham Rappaport, the son of Rabbi Yechiel Hacohen and the grandson of Rabbi Avraham Menachem, the father of the famed Rappaport family and author of Minchah Belulah. Accoridng to one version, the Baal Shem Tov said that the Rappaport family is one of the three most pedigreed Jewish families! Rabbi Avraham wrote the book in honor of Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Bassan of Verona, a disciple of Rabbi Shmuel Milidola. At the beginning of the book, Rabbeinu wrote a blessing in honor of the above Rav Bassan and a short poem of four verses.  Ancient owner's signatures in Italian script - not studied.  40 pp.  Leather binding. Stains. Restored moth damage. Minor taping to the title page and the last leaf. Good condition.
