One of the Treasures of the Basel printing House: Sefer HaAruch by Rabbeinu Natan Ben Yechiel of Rome - Basel, 1599 - Sefer haAruch - elucidation of difficult words in the Talmud and Midrashim - the monumental work by Rabbeini Natan ben Yechiel of Rome - the Press of Konrad Waldkirch - Basel, 1599.  Sefer HaAruch, the foundational work by Rabbeinu Natan of Rome, on all the difficult words in the Shas and Midrashim. The book is used almost daily by Talmidei Chachamim, som much so that it can be said that if it were not for his work, we could understand almost nothing in Sugyot of the Shas pertaining to names of utensils, plants, food etc.  Title page with letters decorated with figures and a fine printer's mark at its center.  Owner's signatures: ”הק' שמואל כ”ץ ממאדראש”,  and additional, unidetified ancient signatures.  166 leaves.  Late half-leather binding, detached. Some moth. Stains. Good condition.
