Fit for Display! Manuscript on Parchment with Ornate Color Decorations containing Useful Prayers for the Chazan and Baal Koreh - Ashkenaz, 1823 - Ashkenazic manuscript - Kuntrees of prayers which are mosly said on the Bimah of the synagogue - with a fine ornate title page - Asheknaz, 1823.  The manuscript contains the prayers said on the Bimah of the synagogue - the blessings of the Haftarah, Yehi Ratzon following the Glilah, Yekum Purkan, Mi Shebeirach, Hanoten Teshu'ah Lemelachim, the blessings of the Megillah, Yizkor and Seder Teki'at Shofar. There are also the Piyyut Lechah Dodi and Baruch She'amar, about which it was written  ”בשבת ויום טוב נוהגין לזמר ברוך שאמר”  [On sabbath and Yom Tov it is customary to sing the Baruch She'amar]. There were communities that had the custom that the Chazan would not begin the Lechah Dodi Piyyut. Instead, a person from the congregation would lead the singing from the synagogue's Bimah (in Belz communities, this custom is still observed today). On the top of the page of the prayer of Hanoten Teshu'ah Lemelachim there is a fine illustration of a coat of arms with a figure of a crowned vulture and decorations of plants on both its sides. The figure of the crowned vulture appears in many coats of arms including that of the Austro-Hungarian kingdom, the Romanov Russian emperors and more. This coat of arms, however, resembles that of the congressional Poland.  A special item that can glorify a prestigious Judaica collection! [6] leaves, [12] written pages. Parchment. 24.5 cm. Loose leaves. Very good condition.
