The Final Letter to His Last Son! Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Admor Rabbi Shalom of Schotz to His Son Rabbi Yechiel Michl - Iyar, 1956 - Letter handwritten and signed by the wonder-worker Rabbi Shalom of Schotz. The letter is addressed to his son Rabbi Yechiel Michl, the last remaining son/ In his letter, Rabbeinu asks his son to give money to charity on his behalf and he will repay him when they meet: ”ואי”ה כשתהא בכאן אחזיר לך”. Later, Rabbeinu writes that he sent his son money, yet since he does not know whether he will receive it on time, he suggests that he borrow some: ”לכן מההכרח שתלוה לך” . At the end of his letter, Rabbeinu invites him for Shavu'ot: ”ו טוב שתבוא אי”ה באניא [אניה] ועל יו”ט אי”ה, הדו”ש [הדורש שלומך]” and his famed signature: ”חיים ושלום”. The letter is not dated yet the postmark (from May 2, 1956) indicates that it was sent in Iyar 1956. Indeed, his son came to him for Shavu'ot  and passed away a week later in London, where he was laid to rest.  Aerogram. Approx, 20X24 cm. Fold lines with small tears along them not affecting the text. Aging stains. Good overall condition.  The Admor Rabbi Shalom Moscowitz of Schotz (1878-1958) a descendant of he Maggid of Zlotshov. He was a Gadol in Nigleh, Nistar, and Halacha. In his youth he received his Semicha from the Maharsham of Berezhan who lauded him. He also authored halachic works. In 1930 he moved to London and became famed as the Admor of Schotz. In his will he guaranteed that mercy would fall upon all who visited his grave and accepted upon himself to become stronger in Mitzvot and lighting candles. He also requested a very modest gravestone without titles or the word “Tzaddik”.
