Halachic Question that was Sent to the Admor the Tzemach Tzeddek and a Copying of His Response with a Passage that was not Printed by His Disciple the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua of Chatimsk - Manuscript, four large pages containing a Halachic question that was sent to the Tzemach Tzeddek of Lubavitch by his disciple Rabbi Yehoshua ben Rabbi Zvi Moreh Tzeddek and Dayan of Chatimsk - with a copying of the response of the Tzemach Tzeddek handwritten by Rabbi Yissachar Ber Horowitz - with a passage that was not published These are four large pages containing three questions on Even HaEzer, Hilchot Geirushin, Hilchot Sheimot Gittin and Heiter Agunah. The question was sent to the Admor the zemach Tzeddek and begins with the words: ” לאדמו”ר הגאון האמיתי נר ישראל וכו' כמוהר”ר מנחם נרו יאיר , מן הראוי היה לי להרבות בתוארים כראוי לו רק שאין זה הגדר ע”כ קצרתי...”. The question was then written at length on 3 pages in fine script, in two orderly columns. At the end of the question, the sender signed his name and added a blessing: ”ויגדל מלכותו ויתנשא בחו”ש עם כל ב”ב עד ביא[ת] גואל צדק אמן – ד' הקטן מתלמידיו יהושע בלא”א מ' צבי ז”ל מ”ץ וד”ץ לע”ע בק”ק חאטימסק”. On the page on verso, the Tzemach Tzeddek's response was copied, ”תשו' רבינו ע”ז” , by the trusted member of his household, Rabbi Yissachar Ber Halevi Horowitz, the famed Moreh Tzeddek of Lubavitch. The response was printed in Shut Tzemach Tzeddek, Even HaEzer, Siman 406. After the copying of the response, there are 16 lines that were not printed. There is no telling whether these are also part of the Tzemach Tzeddek's response (which for some reason were omitted from the printed version) or they were added by Rabbi Yissachar Ber. From the archival treasures of the renowned Moreh Tzeddek, Rabbi Yissachar Ber HaLevi Horowitz of Lubavitch, a trusted member of the household and confidante of the Tzemach Tzeddek of Lubavitch. Folded sheet. [2] leaves (4 written pages). Approx. 34X22 cm. Fair conditition. Dampness stains. Much wear. Tears along the edges affecting the text. Fold lines. A touching document that was held by teh Tzemach Tzeddek. This review was written by the famed manuscripts scholar Rabbi Yosef Zvi Leader, who was among the circle of friends of the bibliographer Rabbi Yehoshua Mondshine and is an expert on Chabadic manuscripts.
