Feast for the eyes - complete set of the Mantova Bible in two volumes - Torah, Neviim Rishonim, Acharonim and Ketuvim - with the first edition of the famed and foundational Minchat Shai commentary - Tthe Press of Chaim de Italia Harofeh - Mantova, 1742-1744. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod 523. This edition contains a lovely half-title preceding each section . The title pages are illustrated with beautiful illustrations laden with spectacular details. The title page contains eight illustrations with a Hebrew caption featuring Moshe descending Mount Sinai, David playing the harp, the Splitting of the Red Sea, the sun standing still in Givon, Ester touching the scepter, Shlomo's Trial, Daniel in the Lion Den and the Dry Bones Vision. The second title page is partly with red lettering. This copy contains all eaight title pages! Many would agree that these title pages are in the top ten of Hebrew illustrated title pages! First edition of the Minchat Shai commentary by Rabbi Yedidya Shlomo Norzi, focusing on the grammar and the Masorah, a fundumental commentary for generations of printers, grammarians, editors and proofreaders.
