Sefer Yesod with Glosses Handwritten by Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz the Tiferet Yisrael - First Edition Karlsruhe, 1755 - Yesod! Sefer Korban Netanel - Chidushim on Piskei HaRosh - by Rabbeinu netanel Weill - the Press of Johann Ludwig Jacob Beld Hoich Buck Druker - Karlsruhe, 1755 - Stefansky Sifrei Yesod 211.  Pedigreed copy! On the leaves of the book, there are three glosses handwritten by Rabbeinu Yisrael Lifshitz, author of the Tiferet Yisrael commentary on the Mishnayot. One gloss is long and signed ”נ”ל ישראל”. The book Korban Netanel was accepted as a Sefer Yesod throughout the Jewish world and beginnning with the Vilna edition of the Shas was printed on the leaves of the Rosh. The commentary was favored by the Lamdanim of POland. The Admor author of the Avnei Nezer wrote in his book that he favors the book Korban Netanel since he heard it being praised by his Rav of Kock: ”ספר קרבן נתנאל חביב עלי מאד, כי שמעתי ממו”ח זצלה”ה מקאצק הפלגה גדולה על ספר הזה”. Additional owner's signatures in early script - not studied.  [2], 148, [3] leaves.  Ancient, worn binding. Stains. Wear. Tears not affecting the text to the last leaves. Fair-good condition.  The famed Gaon, Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz (1782-1861), author of the Tiferet Yisrael, served as Av Beit Din in several cities in Germany, and finally in the great city of Danzig. He was the grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz Av Beit Din of Kleve, and a disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger. He was an extraordinary genius, among the greatest figures of Ashkenazi Jewry. He is renowned for his great work, Tiferet Yisrael on Shisha Sidrei Mishnah  - a work crafted with astonishing meticulousness that impresses all who see it, featuring introductions and practical Halacha at the end of each chapter. His work was accepted throughout all Jewish communities and had hundreds of editions to this day.
