Rare! Letter of Blessings for Pesach handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Breuer Av Beit Din of Frankfurt - Frankfurt am Main, 1909 - Postcard handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman, when he was the Rav Frankfurt am Main. The postcard was sent to Jerusalem on Nissan 13, 1909. In his letter, Rabbeinu confirms he had received the wine for the upcoming Passover, warmly blessing the addressee: ”ויקבל בזה תודתי מעמקי לבבי על כי עלה זכרוני לפניו לטובה, יזכה לחוג את חג המצות הבע”ל בחדוה ובדיצות כתאות נפשו היפה, וכאשר אותה נפש... ד”ש ומוקירו...”. With his full handwritten signature: ”הק' שלמה זלמן ברויער”. [1] posrcard. 9X14 cm. Very good overall condition.  . The Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Breuer (Breyer; 1850–1926), served as the Rav of Pápa and later of the Kahal Adath Yeshurun community in Frankfurt. He was a laeding contemporary Rav and the successor of his illustrious father-in-law, Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch. Born in the city of Pápa, Hungary, to Rabbi Mordechai Breuer and Rebbetzin Sarah (daughter of Rabbi Shimon Wiener, the first disciple of the Chatam Sofer in Hungary and a disciple of the Maharam Bennet), he was recognized from a young age as a brilliant Iluy. He studied under the leading Torah authorities of Hungary, most notably Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer (the Ketav Sofer). After marrying the daughter of Rabbi Hirsch, he wholeheartedly embraced his father-in-law’s unique path, which sanctified the synthesis of Torah with Derech Eretz, founded upon unwavering fidelity to Jewish tradition. Upon assuming the rabbinate in Frankfurt as the community’s Mara SeAtra, he bore the responsibility of leadership with great devotion and stood steadfast against the tide of secularism and modern ideologies that swept through Western Europe. Under his guidance, he strengthened the city’s Torah and educational institutions, founding a yeshiva in the style of the Hungarian yeshivot. The yeshiva operated under his personal supervision and became a distinguished center of Torah that raised generations of Talmidei Chachamim. His fiery sermons and profound Talmudic lectures earned renown far and wide, and he came to be regarded as a symbol of firm and faithful rabbinic leadership. Rabbi Breuer led his community in holiness and purity, leaving behind a magnificent Torah legacy that continued to illuminate the path of German Jewry and the adherents of the “Torah im Derech Eretz” approach for generations to come.
