Extremely Rare Kuntres Given Directly by the Rebbe: Kuntres Ahavat Yisrael - Given On the 11th of Nissan, 1989 - Kuntres Ahavat Yisrael with a yellow binding and high-quality paper - a compilation of verses, Ma'amrei Chazal, the Torah of the Baal Shem Tov, the Maggid of Mezritch, and the Admorim of Chabad, regarding the Mitzvah of Ahavat Yisrael. Also included is the entryof Ahavat Yisrael  from the Sefer HaArachim. The Rebbe was deeply involved in editing the Kuntres and it was printed on his direct instruction for the Mashpi'ii and Mashpi'ot. It was published in New York by Kehat to celebrate the 11th of Nissan, 1977. Some of the Kuntresim were handed out by the Rebbe to Mashpi'im with his handwritten signature at the end in the years following its printing. From the estate of the Mayor of Rishin LeZion, Mr. Chananya Gibstein, who was close to the Chabad Chassidim of his town and one even one of the worshippers at the Chabad synagogue of the town, sitting where his father, Rabbi Yehoshua Gibstein, who was one of the regular worshippers of the synagogue and even delivered lessons there for a ceratin period, used to sit.  Yellow binding. Stains and minor blemishes. Very good overall condition.  The Chalukah:  On the evening of Nissan 11, 1989, after the Ma'ariv prayer in the atmosphere of Nissan 11, some anticipated a Sichat Kodesh in honor of the day, and even the loudspeaker was set up. However, there was a truly unique surprise. At the end of the evening prayer, the Rebbe began handing out the Ahavat Yisrael Kuntres (in a yellow binding), along with an attached dollar bill, to everyone who was above the age of Bar Mitzvah. This was, apparently, a complete surprise even to those in charge of publications, as all the Kuntresim that had been brought ran out after a short time. Immediately, another box of unbound Kuntresim was brought, and when they too ran out , the crowd continued to pass before the Rebbe, who gave out three dollar bills to each person as a Shlichut Mitzvah for charity. There was a lot of pushing, so much so that at the beginning of the Chalukah, the Rebbe stood near the Bimah before the stairs leading up to it, and only later stood in his regular place opposite the middle of the stairs. Throughout the Chalukah, the crowd played the melody for the new chapter, Shir Mizmor Livnei Korach. The event is described as followes in Mazkeret Netzach (Central Tomchei Temimim, New York, Tishrei 2010, p.23ff): “because a special edition was not published for the Chaluka, and only copies of the Kuntresim left over from the 1977 edition were given out, they ran out very quickly, and those who remained received only dollars from the Rebbe forcharity, without the much-awaited Kuntres” .
