The Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes Kollel Controversy: Three Booklets the Sephardic Community of Tiberius - Jerusalem / Tiberius / Izmir? 1904 - Volume with three polemic books about Kupat Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes, which were published by the rabbis of the Sephardic community of Tiberius. The booklets challenge the sages of Jerusalem, who demanded some of the donations to the charity fund of Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes. These polemic books were a response to the book Shimru Mishpat VeAsu Tzeddek (Jerusalem, 1903). All the booklets were printed in the same year; bibliographgers, however, disagree on where they were printed. Some claim they were printed in Izmir while others believe they were printed in Tiberius or Jerusalem.  1. ”Sefer Yatziv Gevulot, first booklet, compiling Gzeirot, Takanot and Haskamot and Kabbalot from the Rishonim Kemalachim...so no one, in Eretz Yisrael and abroad, shall dare touch even a dime of the money of the Kupah of Rabbi Meir Baal hanes... since it is dedicated to the city of Tiberius...”. 1904. [3] leaves. 82 pp. Tears to title page.  2. ”Sefer Mishpat Vatzeddek (apparently the second booklet of Yztiv Gevulot)... Divrei Chachamim... to adhere to the early custom [of the money of Kupat Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes designated for the residents of Tiberius only]”. 1904. [1], 179 pp. Without 2 pages at the end with 'Tochachat meguleh' against the Sdei Chemed. Some of the leaves were left unopened during their printing.  3. ”Sefer Bitzddakah Techoneini Rochki MeOshek. Dover Tzeddek Umaggid Meisharim, by the rabbis and Geonim of the Sephardic community of Tiberius and Safed. Responding to Sefer Shimru Mishpat [VeAssu Tzeddakah, Jerusalem 1903], which was published by the Sephardic sages and rabbis of Jerusalem...”. 1904. [1], 21 pp.  Stains and minor blemishes. Good overall condition. Bound together in an old, worn binding.
