Signature of the Rav the Rachman: Kiseh Eliyahu by Rabbi Eliyahu Suliman Mani - First Edition Jerusalem, ca. 1865 - Sefer Kiseh Eliyahu ”standing on four pillars... Reishit Chochmah... Despite the author's name not appearing in the book, it is known that the book is the work of  the Mekubal Rabbi Eliyahu Suliman Mani, the Rav of Hebron and before his immigration to Eretz Yisrael, the leader of the Babylonian rabbis. First edition Jerusalem, ca. 1865. Some taping. Some moth perforations. Stains and other minor blemishes. Good overall condition.  On leaf 1, the handwritten signature of Rabbi Raphael Chaim Moshe ben Naim - the Rav the Rachman (1845-1920), the son of Rabbi Yeshaya. Was an important Dayan inTiberius and Shadar in varied communities. For more than thirty years served as the Rav of Gibraltar. Author of Shut Rachamim Pshutim, Peter Rechem - sermons, Kol Tachanah - a Kuntres forbidding the grinding of wheat for Matzahs using steam millstones, and more.  The author, the Gaon and Mekubal Rabbi Eliyahu Suliman Mani (1818-1899) a Babylonian Gaon, Av Beit Din and Rav of Hebron and the Rosh Yeshiva of the Beit El Yeshuva of Mekubalim. Gaon in Nistar. Authored many books, most of them Kabbalistic, including Mazkir Shalom, Birkat Eliyahu and more. Rabbi Yedidya Raphael Abulafia said of him ”ארי עלה מבבל”(A lion has immigrated from Babylon). Was the leading Rav of Rabbeinu Yosef Chaim author of the Ben Ish Chai.
