Polemic - Sefer Ya'aneh BaEsh - about the Halachic Approach to Cremation! By Rabbi Eliyahu ben Amozegh - Livorno, 1907 - אם האיש הלזה שציווה שישרפנו [if this man who instructed that he be cremated] - Sefer Ya'aneh BaEsh - about the Halachic approach to cremation and the burial of ashes - by the famed printer Eliyahu ben Amozegh - the Press of Eliyahu ben Amozegh and Sons - Livorno, 1907.  At the beginning of the Kuntres, Rabbi Amozegh describes the bleak situation the custom of cremation spreading throughout Italy and being adopted even by Italian Jews : ”מה יעשה לאיש אשר יצווה את בניו ואת ביתו אחריו שישרפו את גיוותו כדרך שהחלו לעשות כמה וכמה שלא מבני עמנו...” [What shall be done with a man who commands his sons and his household to cremate his body, as several individuals not from our people have begun to do...].  Rabbi Amozegh discusses all aspects of the matter: whether his instructions should be followed; if done, whether it is permitted to bury the ashes in a Jewish cemetery and more.  [1], 27 pp.  Marble paper binding.
