Sefer Be’er Essek - Halachic Shut - by the Gaon Rabbi Shabtai Be'er - First Edition Venice 1674 - Fine Title Page - Sefer Be’er Essek - Halachic Shut - by Rabbi Shabtai Be'er, an Italian Sage - Bragadin Press - first edition Venice 1674. The author, the Gaon Rabbi Shabtai Be'er was a sage of Italy and Jersualem (passed away in ca. in 1674). Some of the responses printed in this book led to criticism of its author, such as his testimony on the Rema of Fano having shaved his beard and his Heiter to do kiddush and Havdalah on Stam Yeinam. The Rabach says that the words of the author of the Be'er Essek should not be trusted. The book introduces his response to a question he was asked after the appearance of Shabtai Zvi, whether the Kinot for the Churban should continued to be said in the morning ashmoret. Rabbi Shabtai's response was they should be said “until we go from slavery to freedom…” [4], 134 leaves. Old binding, partly detached.  Moth damage in the inner margins. Restored and detached title page. Good condition.
