Pedigreed Sefer Yesod! First Edition of Sefer Ketzot Hachoshen - Signatures of the Admor Rabbi Moshe Deutsch of Sighet and the Mekubal Rabbi Chaim Sethon of Safed - Lemberg, 1788 - The foundation of Iyun and depth of Chochmah - Sefer Ketzot HaChoshen Section I - by Rabbeinu Aryeh Leib Heller, author of Avnei Milu'im, Shev Shmateta, and Ketzor Hachoshen - the Press of Yehudit Rosanis - Lemberg, 1878 - first edition - Stefansky Yesod 185.  The author: Rabbi Aryeh Leib Heller, a disciple of the famed Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Igra, In his house, he studied alongside his friend, the author of Netivot HaMishpat. He bequeathed to the Torah world his three booksShev Shemateta, Avnei Milu'im, and Ketzot HaChoshen, all of which quickly became Sifrei Yesod, without which no Beit Midrash or home is complete. He was known for generations as Ba'al HaKetzot after this book. A short time after the book was published, it became favored by all Gedolei Hador. It is known that the Divrei Chaim of Sanz used to study the Ketzot HaChoshen during the break before the blowing of the shofar, at the most sublime moments of Rosh Hashanah!!! Appearing on the side of the title page is the signature of the Mekubal the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Sethon of Safed, the son of the Gaon Rabbi Menasheh Sethon, the rav of Aram Tzova, Syria: ”חנני ה' וכי יש לי כל לרבות זה הצעיר חיים בכמהר”ר מנשה סתהון ס”ט”. An addiitonal ownership signature: ”משה דייטש” - referring to the Admor Rabbi Moshe Deutsch of Sighet.  [2], 129 leaves.  Half-leather binding, worn and partly detached. Blemished title page, restored with paper. Moth damage at the end of the book. Fair condition.  The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Sethon (1873-1916) one of the rabbis of Safed and author of the famed book Eretz Chaim on the customs of Eretz Yisrael. Was born in Safed to his father, the Gaon Rabbi Menashe Sethon, who was Av Beit Din of Aram Tzova, Syria. Rabbeinu was knowledgeable in Kabbalah and studied Chavruta with the Mekubal Rabbi Yosef Yadid Halevi of Jerusalem.     The Admor Rabbi Moshe Deutsch (passed away in 1944) served as Admor in Sighet. He was the son of the Gaon Rabbi David Natan Deutsch, Av Beit Din of Kretshnif and author of Nefesh David, and a great-grandson of Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi, Av Beit Din of Toltshova. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Heller (son of Rabbi Shmuel Heller, Av Beit Din of Safed). His daughter, the pious Rebbetzin Sheindel Bracha, was the mother of the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kahn of Toldot Aharon. Rabbi Moshe studied Torah, Avodah, and Chassidut, as well as extensive knowledge in the wisdom of medicine and remedies from his father-in-law, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Heller. Already during his time in Safed, he was known as a holy man and a wonder-worker . During World War I, when the pressure and distress in the Land of Israel became unbearable, Rabbeinu left Eretz Yisrael, settling in the city of Sighet. There, he led his community with eminence, and many sought his counsel. Rabbeinu perished in the Holocaust, on the 13th of Sivan, 1944.
