The Controversy of the Rav of Ada and Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried Author of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch: Milchemet Chovah / Edut Shoshanim - Giustiniani Press Jerusalem, 1885 - Milchemet Chovah , polemic book written against the book Ohalei Shem by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried in which he disrespectfully disagreed with the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Was printed anonymously in 1882. In this edition, however, there is a lengthy inscription on the title page in which the author  reveals his name, also noting that he was a disciple of the Rav of Sanz and therefore was defending him. Rabbi Yitzchak Giustiniani Press, Jerusalem, 1885. [2], 19, [1] leaves. On verso of the title page are two letters by the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam of Vizhnitz (of Bobov the first) to the author. Printed after them is ”התנצלות המציל מן הרודף”. (Shoshana Halevi 508). Minor stains and tears along the edges not affecting the text. Some taping. Good overall condition.  Second edition published by the author/ This extended edition was printed since Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried had published a response titled Michseh LaOhel in his Lemberg 1884 edition of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch. There, he sharply attacked the author of the Milchemet Chovah. THis edition, therefore, also contains a response to the Michaseh HaOhel.  At its end, the work Edut Shoshanim  in support of ”the Chassid Mordechai Eliezer Weber who innocently corrected the objections... of Sefer Ohalei Shem [by Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried]... to the author of the Divrei Chaim [Rabbeinu of Sanz]...”. Printed without a title page. Jerusalem, 1885. [3] leaves. Dry paper with tears along the edges slightly affecting the text.
