To Be against the Mashchitim - Extremely Rare Letter of Support - Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman Rosh Av Beit Din of London - London, 1928 - And surely he will hold on with his yeshiva - fascinating and unique letter of support - by the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman Rosh Av Beit Din of London - addressed tp the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein the Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron - London, 1928.  Interesting letter dedicated to supprt and appreciation of Rav Epstein's work for establishing the Knesset Yisrael Yeshiva in Hebron.  Pssibly, the yeshiva was experiencing then financial difficulties or other challenges and Rabbi Hillman saw fit to express his support of the Rosh Yeshiva.  The letter was written in the rich, poetic and fascinating language of a wise man: ”מאת ה' היתה זאת שכ”ג ירביץ תורה בישראל במדה נפרזה כזאת ולקבוע ישיבתו הק' באה”ק להיות כנגד המשחיתים בקביעת המשמרים לתורה ביראת ה' טהורה המקומות הק' אשר אבות העולם קבלו מורשה וירושה אין לה הפסק, זכות גדול כזה אות היא לעולם על זכות לבבו ונשמתו התורה, הקשורה בעבותות לנותן התורה, ובטח יחזיק מעמד עם ישיבתו הק' עדי נזכה לנועם אפריון והבית הזה יהיה עליון על מכון הר ציון...”. Good condition.  The Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman (1868-1953) studied at the Volozhin Yeshiva and received his rabbinic Semicha from the Aderet, Rabbi Raphael Shapira, Rabbi Meir Simcha Hacohen and the Radbaz. Immigrated to Britain and served as Av Beit Din of Glasgow, Scotland and later as Rosh Av Beit Din of London. In 1934, immigrated to Jerusalem, where he established the Or Torah Kollel, where many Gedolei Hador studied, including the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Wosner, Rabbi Binyamin Yehoshua Zilber and Rabbi Baruch Yitzchak Levin. His son-in-law was the Chief Rabbi the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Halevi Herzog.
