Signatures of the Rav the Charif and His Son Rabbi Meir Franco: Single Edition of Sefer Zara DeYosef - Livorno, 1849 - Sefer Zara DeYosef 176 Simanim - Chidushei Dinim and Sugyot HaShas - by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Burgil of Tunis - the Press of Reb Moshe Yeshu'ah - Livorno, 1849 - single edition.  Appearing on the title page is a self-dedication handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Rachamim Franco of Jerusalem:  ”קניתי אותו לעבודת קוני לי ולבני ולזרעי הצעיר רחמים יוסף פראנקו ס”ט”.  Apearing on the last leaf is a lengthy gloss handwritten and signed by his son Rabbi Meir Franco of Hebron: ”הצעיר רבינו מאיר פראנקו ס”ט”. 10, 143 leaves.  Original half-leather binding. Quality paper. Moth damage. Good-fair condition.  The Gaon Chacham Chaim Yosef Rachamim Franco known as the Charif (1835-1902) a famed Gaon. Already when he was 18 years old, he received his Rabbinic Semichah. In 1868, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and was accepted as a Dayan of the Beit Din of the Yissa Berachah alngside Rabbi Shalom Moshe Chai Gagin (the Same'ach). Was sent as a Shadar by several communities. Leading rabbis of Jerusalem wrote about his vast knowledge and learning ability in their approbations to his book Shut Sha'arei Rachamim (two sections) and additional books that were not published.   His son the Gaon Rabbi Meir Franco (1866-1930), the Rav of the Sephardic community of Hebron, Dayan of the Beit Din of Rabbeinu the Sdeh Chemed and his right hand man and confidante. Published his father's book Sha'arei Rachamim to which he added some of his own Divrei Torah.
