First Edition of Ma'asseh Roke'ach - Venice, 1742 - Glosses in Sephardic Script, Signed ”אמ”ו” - Sefer Ma'asseh Roke'ach - Chidushim on the Rambam by the Gaon Rabbi Massud Chai ben Aharon Roke'ach - the Press of Meir de Zara - Venice, 1742 - first edition - beautiful illustrated title page. On the leaves of the book there are several glosses and refences in Sephardic script; two of them are signed with the writer's intials: ” אמ”ו ”. The book is adorned with one of the most special title pages of Hebrew printing, with the figures of Moshe and Aharon, motives of plants and additional figures. Apparently, this title page is unique to this book and the printer did not use it for other books printed in his printery, which was one of the smallest in Venice. [8], 2883 leaves. Three leaves at the end are missing. No binding. Many moth perforations. Fair-poor condition.
