Yesod - First Edition of Sefer Haterumah - by Rabbeinu Baruch ben Rabbi Yitzchak - Venice, 1523 - Interesting Chassidic Signature - A Halachic Sefer Yesod - Sefer Haterumah - Piskei Halachot on varied subjects -  by Rabbeinu Baruch ben Rabbi Yitzchak of France - Daniel Boberg Press - Venice, 1523 - first edition - Stefansky Chassidut 227.  Sefer Haterumah contains PIskei Halachot in concise language on varied subjects: Shechitah, Treifot, Issur and Heiter, Chalah, Nidah, Gittin, Chalitzah, Avodah Zara, Sefer Torah, Tefillin and Shabbat. The book was edited by Rabbeinu Baruch ben Yitzchak following the decrees against the Talmud to prevent the Torah being forgotten. Many manuscripts of Sefer Haterumah had survived, indicating its distribution among Jews. All following Gedolei Yisrael, including Maran the Beit Yosef, cite from the book.  On the leaves there are many erasures by the censor, especially on Dinei Yein Nesech, where the word גוי (gentile) is mentioned frequently and the word גלח  (Yiddish for priest) of Hilchot Avodah Zara.  Appearing on one of the leaves is a lengthy owner's notation by the grandson of the Maggid of Zlotchov: יחיאל מיכל כהן צדק אדלער מקאמארנא נכד הרב המגיד מגריידינג זצלה”ה נכד הרב הקדוש מרן יחיאל מיכל בן לאותו הצדיק מו”ה יצחק מדראביטש שהיה נקרא רבי איציקל דראביטשר”. An additional signature by teh above Rav appears on an additional leaf.  Appearing on one of the leaves is a lengthy gloss in Italian script.  Incomplete copy.  Originally: [139] leaves. The title page is missing and was completed with a photocopy. IN addiiton, 19 leaves at the end of the book are also missing and were completed with a photocopy. Late binding. Moth damage mainly to the edges, slightly affecting the text. Fair-good condition.
