Ein Yisrael Ubeit Yehuda - Amsterdam, 1724 Parchment Spine with Handwritten Notations - Copy of Rabbi Yaakov De Leeuw - Ein Yisrael Ubeit Yehuda, Section II. Small volume with large fonts to be easily carried. The Press of Rabbi Shlomo Proops, Amsterdam- 1724.  Originally: [1], 150; 175 leaves. In this copy, Section II up to leaf 158 appears first and the rest is missing. Bound after it is Section I, which is incomplete and begins with leaf 52.  Parchment spine. On its verso, there are handwritten notations in faded Assyrian script which is difficult to read (possibly, a Ketubah ot antoher document). Signatures appear on its lower part - not studied.  Detached title page. Old binding, worn and partly detached. Stains. Small tears to the edges of some leaves. Good overall condition.  On the title page, the handwritten signature of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov De Leeuw: ”יעקב דע לעהוו”. Rabbi Yaakov (Heiman) De Leeuw was born in 1811 in Zutphen, Holland to Rabbi Chaim. Moved to Leiden to study Torah and became an important Dutch sage. He also published important books on the Talmud Bavli including Shoshanat Yaakov, Achuzat Mere'im, Dvarim Achadim, Chelek Yaakov, Pri Etz Chaim and Mishkenot Haro'im.
