Polemic: Milchemet Yavetz - Jerusalem, 1924 - Signature of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Goldvicht with Glosses Handwritten by Him - Milchemet Yavetz, against the book Kevod Chachamim which was written against Rabbi Yaakov Emden, who criticised the book Chemdat Yamim - by Reb Mordechai Luria, ”and now republished by the author's widow Mrs. Pearl Luria”. Jerusalem, 1924.  The dispute of the Chemdat Yamim Siddur : many books were written on the subject and to this day, there is still a dispute between its supporters and opponents.  Appearing on the flyleaf is a dedication for the Bar Mitzvah of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Goldvicht  in 1938 and his signatures. On the leaves of the book there are several early glosses handwritten by the Rosh Yeshiva.  24 leaves.  Detached binding. Dampness stains. Fair condition.  Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Goldvicht (1925-1995) was born in Strauss, Jerusalem, to Rabbi Yisrael Elazer Goldvicht, a ninth generation Jerusalemite. He studied at Etz Chaim, which was headed by Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer and frequently corresponded with the Rav of Brisk, Rabbi Yitzchak Zeev Soloveitchik. He also studied in Slobodka in Bnei Brak, where he became close to the Chazon Ish. Founded the first Kerem BeYavne Yeshiva, the first Yeshivat Hesder and was its first Rosh Yeshiva.
