Prayer to Stop the Spread of a Pandemic - Rare Kuntres Printed in Trieste during the Cholera - Trieste, 1855 - Prayer to stop the spread of a pandemic - by Rabbi Shabtai Elchanan Troish - Hebrew with an Italian translation - Trieste, 1855.  Background: Between the years 1846 - 1863, there was a third outbreak of the cholera pandemic, which encompassed all countries of the world. Naturally, port cities were the first to suffer, due to the tourists and merchants who visited them from the four corners of the globe. This is a rare prayer Kuntres that was printed in the port city of Trieste, Italy, in 1855, at the height of the third cholera pandemic. Written at its beginning: ”התפלה הזאת חברה כמוהר”ר שבתי אלחנן טרויש יצ”ו לעצירת המגפה בשנת תקצ”ו ותהי לחק בק”ק טריאסטי להתפללה בימי הנגף” [This prayer was authored by Rabbi Shabtai Elchanan Troish to stop the spread of the pandemic in 1836 in Trieste...].  Hebrew with an Italian translation on facing pages.  Extremely rare! 15 pp.  Good condition.
