Original Obituary for the Passing of the Rosh Yeshiva of Torat Emet in Hebron and Av Beit Din of the Ashkenazic Community of the Town the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Slonim Fifth Generation since the Admor Hazaken - Jerusalem, 1937 - Original obituary for the passing of the famed Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Slonim, the Rosh Yeshiva of Torat Emet in Hebron and Av Beit Din of the Ashkenazic community of the fown, from Tishrei 12, 1937. ”אבינו היקר בנש”ק שלשלת היוחסין פאר משפחתנו דור החמישי לבעל התניא זצ”ל”  [Our dear father... fifth generation since Baal HaTanya]. Good overall condition.  The Chassid Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Slonim (1881-1938), the Rosh Yeshiva of Torat Emet of Hebron and Av Beit Din of the Ashkenazic community of the town. Was the grandson of the pious Rebbetzin Menucha Rachel and her forefathers the Mitteler Admor and the Admor Hazaken Baal Hatanya. Was the representative of the Admor the Rashab in Hebron. He was the one who thought of bringing the Hebron Knesset Yisrael Yeshiva to the town. He miraculously survived the 1929 Riots yet lost several members of his family.
