Rare: Miniature Tanya Printed in the Great Synagogue of Moscow with the Break of the Iron Curtain. - Likkutei Amarim Tanya, a Chassidic Sefer Yesod by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, known as Baal HaTanya (after this work). Miniature edition printed in Moscow, the capital of the Soviet Union, in 1992, with the break of the Iron Curtain after many years during which the Jews of the country suffered greatly, especially the Chabad chassidim. Throughout the Communist rule the Rebbe refused to allow the printing of the Tanya in the USSR fearing that he would endanger the local Jews. In Cheshvan 1991, during the Chalukah of dollar bills, the Rebbe suprisingly asked Rabbi Zalman Chanin and Rabbi Leibel Zeinitz to publish the Tanya in the USSR. This Tanya is the first one that was printed at the Great Synagogue of Moscow ;  the place of printing was handwritten on the copy. It is interesting to note that this copy was given as a gift at the wedding of Yitzchak and Miriam Scheiner on the 26th of Adar II, 1992.
