Rare Broadside with the Rebbe the Rayatz' Opinion on the Teheran Children - Jerusalem? 1943 - Rare broadside, ”full translation of a telegram by the Admor Shlita of Lubavitch, to hs representative the Gaon Rav... Rabbi Shlomo yehuda Leib Eliezarov...”. The Rebbe the Rayatz asks Rav Eliezarov to publish on his behalf his protest over the attempt to send the Teheran Children [see below] to non-religious educational institutions. The Rebbe requests that evryone do his best to prevent this.  An important and rare broadside that is not in the Ephemera Collection of the National Library.  17.5X25 cm. Filing holes with tears. Minor stains. Fold lines. Good overall condition.  The Teheran Children The Teheran Children were a group of children, Holocaust survivors, who were smmugled from Poland via Teheran, Iran, to Eretz Yisrael in 1943. The children's arrival led to a heated public dispute following the authorities' refusal to enable the children to receive religious education. Leading contemporary rabbis in Eretz Yisrael and abroad protested and made efforts to save the children. The Admor the Rayatz headed the public protest in the USA and was concerned with the issue for a long time (see more in Chabapedia).
